Copy as off-the-wall as the exercises.
Aerial yoga
The London Dance Academy is all about dance. It’s an academy. And it’s in London. Otherwise it might be called the Stockport Plumbing Emporium. But hey – it’s the first and only school in London to offer AntiGravity® Yoga. But what’s Aerial Yoga?
Aerial Yoga is yoga in a hammock. Well, how hard can that be? Well, fairly hard, actually, cos there are no cocktails or glossy magazines involved.
You’ll achieve proper postural alignment through relaxation rather than effort. It’s fun, creative, stimulating and you’ll have abs as hard as an ox hide soaked in vinegar. But less stinky.
Extreme stretching
OK, how extreme can stretching be? Have you watched Moulin Rouge? Or men’s gymnastics? Some of these guys can do the box splits without speaking soprano for a week. And all at the London Dance Academy, home of expression, discovery and unspeakable acts with poles.
Work your flexibility to the max, bend into a pretzel (or packet of pretzels) and touch your toes without screaming like a tiny farm animal. Go through a variety of intense stretches alone and in pairs, sculpt your body and prime yourself for the pole.
Broga
More manly than a nail gun, but eight times less dangerous, Broga is a great bearhug of a fitness class that strengthens your core, tones muscles and sees stress pour away like a drip tray in the pub.
Combining yoga postures with functional fitness exercises, Broga is more working in than out. It’s core-strengthening, cardio-working, clarity-enhancing and gravity-defying. You don’t need to touch your toes. You don’t even need to be a bloke. Leave your preconceptions and patchouli oil at home.
